Elder Oaks Optimistic about Church’s Growth in South Pacific

Missionaries in increasing numbers have come to this island to go forth and declare the message of restoration, bearing their witness of the gospel again being on the earth and giving these choice people the opportunity to partake of the fruits thereof and experience the joy of being buried in the waters of baptism and coming forth to be confirmed members of Thy Church… And now, dear Father, by the authority of the holy Apostleship which I hold, I now turn the key to unlock and open the door for the greater preaching of the gospel on this island nation and rebuke and command to be stayed every power that would oppose the missionaries from going forward to declare the glad tidings of the restoration. I bless and dedicate this nation to the preaching of the gospel and I do all this that salvation may be possible for all men and women and children, that Thy holy name will be honored and glorified in this great part of the land of Zion.
Suva Fiji Temple Dedicatory Prayer, 18 June 2000, President Gordon B. Hinckley
We pray dear Father that these beautiful islands may be blessed with peace, that there shall be no abridgment of the great freedom of workshop afforded by the government of this land. My Thy saints be recognized as good citizens and may Thy work grow and flourish in the favored part of Thy vineyard.
